Coordination:

The aim of the Academic Information Systems at e-Campus University, is to create, optimize and manage an integrated set of digital platforms and technological applications for the purpose of improving the use of academic and administrative services. This set of components creates a true Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), a learning environment designed to support both the students and teaching and administrative staff, and are divided into different components, each aimed at facilitating specific aspects of university life.

  • Academic and teaching management
The students at e Campus University have access to a range of tools that simplify and improve their their learning pathway. One of the most important is the e-learning platform, which is one of the central elements, enabling functionalities such as the use of online learning content, the participation in asynchronous and synchronous lectures, as well as the interaction with professors and fellow students through forums, webinair tutorials and concept maps and other communication methods. Furthermore, VLE provides the students with the possibility to consult course programmes, view course materials, upload assignments and follow the progress of the syllabus.

  • Systems for assessment and management of exams
Another important feature of the academic information systems is the examination management system, which enables the planning and registration of examinations, as well as the recording of results. The students will be able to view the dates of exam sessions, find out how they are implemented and will have access to their grades as soon as they are available. The members of the teaching staff can upload and correct exams and tests, communicate the results and interact with students for eventual clarification and feedback.

  • Registration and career management
The students will have quick and easy access to the administrative services thanks to a personal portal where the candidates can register for courses, consult their university career and monitor their exam status and view their results.

  • Communication support and collaboration
The VLE managed by the academic information systems facilitates the communication process between the students and the teaching and administrative staff. Through the online platform, users can send and receive messages, access official news and announcements, and participate in discussion forums for each course. Furthermore, the technologies adopted ensure the possibility for video calls for the purpose of meetings and consultations, thus meeting the needs of an efficient distance learning system.

  • Management of academic services and resources
Furthermore, the VLE of the academic information systems enables the management of a variety of additional services aimed at student support, such as access to the Multimedia Academic Library, which provides access to the most important digital libraries, the booking of teaching resources, and the management of any internships or work placements. Thanks to the integration with other technological tools, students can benefit from digital teaching materials, access to virtual workshops or participate in research initiatives and projects.

  • Security and privacy
The academic information systems adopt strict information security standards to protect the VLE and sensitive user data. Personal information, academic results and internal communications are handled in compliance with privacy regulations, guaranteeing confidentiality and data protection. Furthermore, the university adopts secure authentication systems and measures to protect against cyber threats and to create a secure learning and working environment for all users.

In summary, the Academic Information Systems represent a fundamental support for the entire university community. Not only do they improve the efficiency of administrative and academic processes, but they also work every day to provide students with a modern, flexible and highly interactive learning experience, thus responding to the challenges of today's educational environment. The integration of tools in the Academic VLE, accessibility and technological innovation are key elements for a university that is increasingly aimed at taking up and overcoming any future challenge.
